Frequently Asked Questions:

What’s the story on Graystone Castle?

The ‘Castle’ (originally named Graystone Manor) was designed and built by a local family as their private residence in 1992. It was under construction for 20+ years. In October of 2015, we purchased the Castle as an investment with the intent to finish out construction and possibly live-in and/or retire in the home. At that time, the Castle was about 50% complete. In the past 2 ½ years, we have completed the existing projects, updated others, and added a ton of new features and amenities…bringing the square footage of the Castle to a luxurious 20,000+sq ft. We have completed the entire basement level and added a movie theater, a ballroom, a game room, a poker room, a library, and much more! In early 2018, we began allowing friends, family, and guests to rent the entire castle out for extended periods of time for family vacations, reunions, small events, and retreats. It has been a very joyful experience for us all…we love being able to share this rare piece of workmanship with those who value its quality and uniqueness as much as we do!

How can I stay at the Castle?

We only rent the castle out as ‘a whole’ (not by individual rooms), and we do require a minimum 2-3 nights stay. You can find our rates and more details here: https://www.vrbo.com/1279904, or by contacting us directly.

Can I have a wedding or event at the Castle?

Graystone Castle is located in small and primarily residential community filled with wildlife and away from the ‘hustle and bustle’ of city life. Out of respect for our neighboring residences and businesses, we do not allow parties or events that can disrupt the peaceful quiet enjoyment of our community. This property is not available for commercial use.

Can I drive-by and see the Castle?

No, you cannot. We have two security gates (one at the entrance of the neighborhood, and one leading to the long driveway to the Castle) ensuring privacy for us, our neighbors, and our guests.

How can I tour the Castle?

We are available by appointment only. Please contact us directly for upcoming dates and times we may have available to tour the Castle.

Do you allow photography and/or video production at the Castle?

On a case-by-case basis, we do allow photography or filming to be done at the Castle. Please contact us directly for upcoming dates and times we may have available.

How many people can sleep over if I rent the Castle?

We have 7 bedrooms total in the Castle, comfortably sleeping 16-22 people (assuming double-occupancy). We have the ability to set-up additional beds as needed, but we do charge a fee for each added bed (in order to cover our costs of the handyman setting them up and taking them down, and the housekeeper’s time to make the beds and launder the linens). Our maximum overnight occupancy is 25 people total (additional daytime visitors are allowed).

If I rent the Castle, what all is included?

Everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible! We include all luxury bed and bath linens, the kitchen is stocked for 24 person service, travel size bath amenities, extra tables and chairs, kitchen and bath paper goods, DVD selection, games, puzzles, and more. Contact us directly for a more specific list of what all is included.

Are there any other important details I should know before considering renting the Castle?

Always! See below…

-We do NOT have air conditioning (although our stone exterior helps with keeping the temperature in the castle nice and cool).

-We do NOT have internet service provided/included. Cell service is relatively good at the Castle, and 4G is available should you choose to access the internet from your cellphone or device.

-We have a ‘high-level’ of security at the Castle. We have a security monitoring system, as well as several outdoor cameras throughout the property. This ensures the security of us, our neighbors, and our guests. It also prevents potential trespassing or break-ins.

-Lastly, as disclosed in all our contracts: Guests must comply with all rules and regulations of the homeowners’ association rules and regulations provided within their contract.
